Section 14
Treatment expenses

(1) The General Secretary or the Secretary will receive the following treatment expenses when he/she is sick:-
(a) Expenses incurred during admission and treatment in a government or community hospital as per the hospital bill and expenses for medicines purchased as per the prescription of the hospital doctor. But the doctor's prescription should mention the diagnosis of the disease.
(b) Expenditure according to the bill incurred for all types of chirfar (surgical operation) except plastic surgery.
(c) Expenses for glasses, teeth, earphones, etc. as per the bill incurred from the amount specified by the Government of Nepal.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), the amount of medical expenses received by the Secretary-General and the Secretary during their term of office shall not exceed the amount equal to twelve months' salary received by them.
(3) If the committee of doctors appointed by the Government of Nepal recommends that drug treatment cannot be done within Nepal, the Secretary General and Secretary who wish to go abroad for treatment may be given additional financial assistance as deemed appropriate by the Government of Nepal in addition to the treatment expenses received under sub-section (1).
(4) The General Secretary and the Secretary will be entitled to receive a lump sum amount of two-thirds of the remaining amount, with or without taking some of the medical expenses received according to sub-section (2) upon separation from the service. But the general secretary or secretary who retires from service to get pension will be entitled to receive the entire amount as a lump sum.
(5) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (4), when giving medical expenses to a general secretary or secretary who retires from service without serving five years in the position of general secretary or secretary, the total amount of medical expenses received according to this act shall be treated as the amount due to five years of service. will be given only.
(6) If the general secretary or secretary dies before receiving the medical expenses due under this section, the person who is determined to be entitled to family pension or gratuity according to section 16 shall be entitled to receive the medical expenses.
